SGI was incorporated in April of 1989 and serves as the:
• Official representative of the undergraduate student body on the Queens campus of St. John's University.
• Parent organization of all undergraduate student organizations on campus.
• Channel of communications between students and administration.
Not only does SGI represent you, we are also responsible for the coordination and regulation of the undergraduate student activities and organizations on campus; while allocating funds from the Student Activity Fee to various student organizations, SGI committees & College representative programming, student development projects as well as community building, service-focused and social activities.
SGI’s meetings are open to all interested parties where many topics vital to the future of student activities and organizations at St. John’s are discussed in an open forum and voted on by the floor of SGI.
